Description

The building comprises a row of three cottages located on the High Street in Weston, dating to the late 17th and early 18th centuries, with alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The cottages are stepped downhill at a right angle to the road, from number 62 to the south. They are constructed of limestone rubble with pantile roofs, incorporating moulded stacks to the party walls, the right gable end, and a lateral stack at the rear of number 62.

Number 60, on the right-hand side, was originally two single-unit cottages with a stack to the coped party wall, featuring moulded kneelers. The first floor gable end has 19th-century ashlar cladding. Two and three-light casement windows extend through the eaves; the ground floor openings have freestone surrounds, and a stone lintel over a planked door also covers a small window to the right. The left-hand range has a continuous dripmould over a three-light window with roll-edged flat stone mullions, and a 20th-century window, formerly a door, is located to the left.

Number 61, central, was also formerly two cottages, with a three-window range. It features 17th-century ovolo-moulded stone mullions and 20th-century glazing to three-light eaves windows, flanked by a 20th-century casement window within a rusticated freestone architrave, likely dating to the 18th century. Similar architraves and windows are present on the ground floor, including a door to the left. The interior shows a deep chimney breast to a former party wall, suggesting a previous open fire.

Number 62, facing west, has a three-window range with 20th-century windows and a door, mainly in altered openings. The interior has not been inspected for any of the properties.
