Description
Pen Hill Farmhouse is a former farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from limestone rubble and features a steeply pitched ornamental glazed tile roof from the 19th or 20th century, with tall stacks located to the left of the central ridge and at the right gable end. The left gable end has a truncated external stack.
The farmhouse has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high, with a three-window range on the exterior. The windows on the upper level are painted stone mullions with three-light, three-pane casements positioned at eaves level. The ground floor has similar windows with relieving arches and hoodmoulds, including a three-light window to the left of the central door, and two four-light windows flanking a single-light window on the right. A projecting step-gabled porch covers a studded door that features wrought iron strap hinges within a moulded frame.
The interior has not been inspected, but it is known to have a blocked open fireplace.
