Description

This structure consists of a raised pavement, steps, and railings that extend approximately 100 metres to the west from the Old School Room. It dates from the 19th century, with some railings added in the 20th century. The walls are made of sandstone rubble and are about one metre high. The surface is partly paved with pennant stone and partly tarmacked. The pavement ramps down to ground level at both ends and features two sets of steps, each with four steps and railings on the sides. Cast iron piers are placed at roughly two metre intervals, supporting horizontal rails.
