Description
Nos. 6 and 7 on Bath Road are a pair of estate cottages built around 1860 for the Inigo-Jones estate. They are constructed from coursed squared rubble with rock-faced quoins and feature a slate roof with coped raised verges on moulded kneelers. The cottages are two storeys tall, with each having a single bay. The ground floor has 3-light casements, while the first floor has 2-light casements, all set in plain chamfered mullions and surrounds, and are topped with plain dripmoulds. A central projecting ashlar porch, which is triangular in plan, features 4-centre headed doorways and ball finials, leading to an inner plank door. A shield badge with the initials "IJ" is affixed in the center of the first floor. This pair of cottages is part of an intact and unaltered mid-Victorian estate village.
