Description

A pair of estate cottages dating from the 1860s, built for the Inigo Jones estate. They are constructed from coursed squared rubble with a slate roof featuring coped raised verges on moulded kneelers. The chimneys are of rubble and ashlar. The cottages are two storeys high, with three bays each. The ground floor has casement windows with two lights, featuring plain chamfered mullions and surrounds, set under dripmoulds. Central first-floor windows on both cottages have been blocked. Central, gabled porches are built of ashlar and topped with ball finials on stems. The porch to No. 15 has a segmental headed doorway flanked by two round-headed lights; the porch to No. 14 has a segmental headed doorway. Both doorways have keystones. The cottages form part of an intact and unaltered mid-Victorian estate village.
