Description

No. 1 on Bath Road is an estate cottage, likely built in the 17th century and altered in the mid-19th century for the Inigo-Jones estate. The building features coursed rubble with freestone dressings and a pantile roof that has coped raised verges on moulded kneelers. It is two storeys high and consists of two bays, with 3- and 2-light casement windows that have plain chamfered mullions and surrounds, all set under dripmoulds. To the right, there is a gabled porch with a segmental headed doorway, a keystone, and a ball finial. Additionally, there is a single storey, two bay wing to the right. This cottage is part of an intact and unaltered estate village.
