Description

This is a group of late 17th-century houses on the south-east side of High Street, with No. 286 incorporating a shop. The houses are constructed of rubble with freestone dressings, and have double Roman tiled roofs. Nos. 282 and 284 are single-storey buildings with attics, featuring stone gables. Each house has one window, a mix of modern three-light casement windows and a sash window with glazing bars. Modern doors are situated to the left of each house. No. 286 is two storeys high with two windows, featuring two- and three-light casement windows with moulded stone mullions and drips. It has a 20th-century shopfront and a carriage entrance on the ground floor. The buildings are included on the list because of their group value.
