Description

Nos 5 to 9 on Scalby Road are an early 19th-century group of three three-storey houses made of red brick with some grey headers. They feature a gable end slate roof with an eaves board and a moulded cornice. No 5 has two windows, while Nos 7 and 9 each have one window, all with recessed sashes and later glazing, and flat stucco arches above. The doors for Nos 5 and 7 are plain, with a six-panel passage door between them. No 9 includes an early to mid-19th-century shop front with a three-light window set in a pilaster frame, an entablature with a blind case, and a panelled and glazed door topped with a rectangular fanlight. These houses are listed for their group value.
