Description

This is a detached villa, built around 1830. It is constructed of dark red brick, with a plinth and a narrow painted sill course on the first floor. The roof is slate, with a low pitch and a shallow eaves cornice to the gable ends. The front facade is symmetrical, with three windows on each floor. The recessed sash windows retain their glazing bars and are topped by flat stone arches with keyblocks. The central first-floor window has an architrave surrounded by a small cornice resting on block brackets. The central front door is half-glazed and features a plain rectangular fanlight, set within a doorcase of fluted Greek Doric columns and an entablature with a triglyph frieze. It is part of a group that includes numbers 29 to 73 (odd), along with the front walls of numbers 29 to 45 (odd).
