Description

The Forge is a disused building located on Penthouse Hill in Batheaston. It dates back to the early 18th century but has undergone significant alterations. The structure is built of rubble with some ashlar and features a double Roman tiled roof with coped raised verges. It is a single-storey building. The left side has a large 20th-century door and casement windows, with lettered boarding above. The right side consists of four bays with a mix of window styles, including one two-light casement with a stone mullion. There is also a plank door on the right.
