Description

This building is an outbuilding located to the west of Poplar House in Batheaston. It is a coach house that has been converted into an outbuilding and garage, dating from the mid-18th century. The structure is made of coursed squared rubble with freestone dressings and quoins, topped with a double Roman tiled roof featuring coped raised verges. The building has two storeys, with a single glazing bar sash window on the ground floor and a blocked circular pitching hole on the first floor. There is a plat band present. A 20th-century lean-to garage has been added. The side elevation includes a door opening and a loading door on the first floor. This outbuilding is included for its group value with Poplar House.
