Description
This outbuilding, attached to the west end of Hardcastle House, dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. It is constructed of rubble and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and two bays, with quoins at the corners. On the right side, there is a garage entrance that was added in the 20th century, while to the left is the original doorway, which has chamfered quoined jambs and a large lintel. There is also a square window with a plain surround to the left of the doorway. Above the garage entrance, there is a two-light flat-faced mullion window. The interior was not inspected during the recent survey. This outbuilding is included for its group value with Hardcastle House.
