Description

St Christopher is a large detached villa built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a slate roof. The villa has a compact square Italianate design with a low-pitched hipped roof and an additional bay with a flat roof on the left side.

The exterior consists of two storeys and a lower ground floor beneath a terrace. The south front, which faces away from the road, has full-height canted bays and a central sash window above a glazed door. The terrace is supported by a five-bay moulded arcade, featuring a balustrade with Gothic detailing and cusped openwork, including a small rose at the center.

On the road front, there are three plain sash windows and a central door situated below a deep blank panel and a floating cornice supported by consoles, with a glazed canopy extending to the central gatepiers. To the left, there is an extra bay with an open loggia on the ground floor, and the left return has a two-light casement window and a four-pane sash window. The villa also features a plain eaves band, deep eaves, and two ashlar stacks with cornices at each end.

The interior has not been inspected. St Christopher is part of a group of four similar villas that take advantage of the sloping site, providing extensive views to the south.
