Description
The boundary wall and gatepiers to Belmont House, located on the south side of Belmont Road in Combe Down, date from the mid-19th century. Constructed of ashlar, the boundary wall runs the full width of the site. Near the right end, there is a pair of square piers with moulded cappings and blocking, which originally had ball finials. To the right of these piers, the wall rises to approximately 2 meters high with a plain coping, while the remaining sections of the wall are about 1.5 meters high. There is another pair of piers at the far left end, and a simple opening directly opposite the porch entry. The wall runs parallel to the north end of the house at a very close distance.
