Description

Vale View House is a detached house dating from the early 19th century, with later 20th-century additions. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a slate roof. The house has a symmetrical, compact gabled form with a large extension across the entire rear. The principal facade features two storeys and three windows, all with original twelve-pane sashes and thin drip moulds. An original six-panel door is set within a square ashlar porch, which has small arched lights in the cheeks, a cornice, and a blocking course. Each gable is punctuated by a two-stage ashlar stack, and the eaves have deep projecting soffits. The right-hand return is plain, whereas the left-hand side has an attached 20th-century conservatory. The interior has not been inspected. Vale View House is a handsome villa situated in a commanding position on a bend in the road.
