Description
The boundary walls and gatepiers at West Brow date from the mid-19th century and are constructed of ashlar or coursed stone. At the bottom end of Belmont Road, where it meets Summer Lane, there are a pair of square piers topped with deep moulded cappings, blockings, and ball finials. To the left, approximately 3 meters away, there is a similar but simpler pier linked by walling. The boundary wall runs along the entire length of the site, made of squared dressed blocks with plain coping. The main opening features a 20th-century field gate along with two small plank gates integrated into the wall. This boundary wall connects a group of villas and is significant to the overall street scene. The plain wall was noted to be heavily overgrown during a survey in March 1994 and continues along the frontage to Summer Lane.
