Description
10B Monmouth Place is a small house in a row, built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. The building is constructed from painted limestone ashlar and has a slate roof. It has a narrow frontage and is oriented gable to the street.
The exterior features three storeys with a single window. The top floor has a replacement sash window, while the first floor boasts an original six-over-six sash window with an iron balconette. The ground floor retains its original shopfront, which includes four pilasters and a plain display window with a plank stall riser. There is a panelled door on the left, accompanied by a three-pane transom light and topped by a fascia board. The gable is coped. To the right, the adjacent buildings are set back, and there is a short length of parapet between raised blockings, each topped with a carved stone pineapple finial. A twelve-pane sash window with a balconette is present at the first floor.
The interior has not been inspected. The shopfront design appears to have been created around the same time as that of No. 10A, although the two properties were built separately.
