Description

South Farm Cottages, dated 1720, is a symmetrical range of cottages located at right angles to South Farm Road. The building has two storeys and an attic, constructed from coursed flints with brick bands above each storey. The south front features two paired casement windows on either side of the center. The middle cottages have doors at the inner ends, while the outer cottages have doors at the outer ends. The north front mirrors this arrangement but has larger ground-floor windows and two casement dormers. The roof is steep and slated, with two ridge chimneys. The corners and the center of the building are accented with quoining. There is one casement window in the east gable, and many of the casements likely feature early slender metal glazing bars.
