Description

Chantry Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with a front that was remodeled in the 19th century and altered in the 20th century. The building is timber-framed and features a refronted east elevation with painted brick on the ground floor and weatherboarding on the first floor. Some exposed jowled posts can be seen on the north elevation, while the south elevation is slate hung. The roof is tiled and includes dormers. The cottage has late 19th-century casement windows, including a two-storey bay window on the right side. To the left, there is a 20th-century doorcase with a pediment, pilasters, and a wooden Rococo-style band that acts as a pediment. Additionally, there is a further planked door with decorative hinges in a purpose-built extension to the left.
