Description

Romany Cottage and Wickham House, originally a single house and now two cottages, were built in the early 19th century with a later addition in the mid-19th century. The front range (Wickham House, number 129) has a ground floor of brick, now painted, with a rendered plinth and a first floor clad in tiles. It features a half-hipped tiled mansard roof and two storeys with attic space. The front elevation has five windows, alongside four dormers with pivoting casements, and three sash windows that are tripartite in design. A doorcase on the left side has a flat wooden hood supported by brackets, leading to a six-panelled door with glazed upper panels, accessed by a sideways staircase with an iron handrail. There is a squared bay on the ground floor. The rear range (Romany Cottage, number 131) is constructed of red brick with a slate roof.
