Description

Oakley House is a late 17th-century house located on the east side of High Street in Lindfield. The building features a ground floor constructed of chequerwork brick set on a brick and sandstone plinth, with the first floor hung with curved tiles and a tiled roof. It stands two storeys high and has three windows, along with two modern dormers and three modern casement windows. The central doorcase, which is the original, includes a flat band on brackets and a six-panelled door, with the top two panels cut away and glazed. There are two other doors that are almost identical, differing only by the presence of pilasters. At the rear of No 114, there is a massive brick external chimney stack.
