Description
Pierpoint House is a house consisting of two sections, with the northernmost five bays dating from the mid-18th century or earlier, and the southernmost three bays added in the 19th century using matching materials. The ground floor features red brick set on a sandstone and brick plinth, while the first floor is hung with curved tiles. The south elevation has chequerwork brick on the ground floor and is tile hung on the first floor, topped with a tiled roof. The house is two storeys high and has three windows, which are sashes with 12 panes and moulded architraves. The mid-18th century doorcase, located centrally in the original part, has a flat wooden hood supported by brackets and a six-fielded panelled door with a footscraper. A deep wooden moulded cornice adds to the architectural detail.
