Description
Seckham's House is a house that likely dates from the late 16th century, although it was refronted in the early 19th century. The east elevation features painted brick on a brick plinth at the ground floor, while the first and second storeys are covered in stucco. The south elevation has exposed square framing on the ground floor and is adorned with curved tiles above. The roof is made of Horsham stone slate tiles and has a central brick chimney stack.
The building has three storeys and a window arrangement of 2:4:3. The second-floor windows are sliding casements, the first-floor windows are 16-pane sashes set in moulded architraves, some of which are horned, and the ground floor windows are 16-pane sashes set in cambered arches. The entrance features an off-central doorcase with a flat wooden hood supported by brackets, pilasters, and a four-panelled door. There is also a cast iron inn sign bracket. At the rear, there are 19th-century brick and tiled extensions with a slate roof.
