Description
Edgeworth House is possibly a 15th-century timber-framed building with a 20th-century wing added to the south. The structure is L-shaped, featuring a ground floor of painted brick and a first floor that is tile hung. The roof is old and tiled, with some remaining Horsham Slabs. There is a central chimney stack and six modern casement windows. Some square framing is exposed in the North Gate, and there is a modern doorcase with a flat hood supported by brackets. Inside, the house has exposed beams and open fireplaces. The site is noted on the Surrey County Council List of Antiquities as No. 92, and a house is depicted on a Christ's Hospital map of Horley from 1602.
