Description
Wing House is probably a 16th century house attached to the south of Edgeworth House. It is two storeys high and features timber framing with brick nogging, including some herringbone patterns, on a base of Charlwood Stone. The roof is tiled and has two modern dormers, while the rear of the roof is covered with Horsham slabs. The north end shows some curved tension traces and close-studding. On the ground floor, there is an original mullioned window along with four casement windows. The entrance has a simple doorcase with a tiled, porticoed weather porch. The rear elevation reveals exposed framing, with square framing on the ground floor and close-studding on the first floor. The roof is constructed with side purlins and wind braces, showing some smoke blackening that suggests there was a smoke bay at one time. Three sides of the solar bay are close-studded.
