Description

NORTH PALLANT 1. 972 (East Side) Nos 1 & 1A - (former stables) (Formerly listed as No 1) SU 8604 NW 4/150 5.7.50. II GV 2. C18. 2 storeys. 5 windows. Hipped tiled roof. Red brick. Centre portion of 3 windows projects slightly and has a pediment above. Sash windows in reveals in flat arches; glazing bars intact; rubbed brick voussoirs. 6 panel moulded door (a double door) with rectangular and semi-circular fanlight over; semi-circular arched doorway with engaged Ionic columns with paterae and rectangular pediment with modillions over. No 1A to the south comprises the former stables. C18. 2 storeys. Lower front- age. Tiled gabled roof. Stuccoed. Small dentilled eaves cornice. Now 3 window bays. On 1st floor, modern sash windows in reveals in flat arches, glazing bars intact; taller central window with wrought iron balconette. On ground floor, to the north, modern bow window in reveals with glazing bars intact and cornice over. Central doorway; 6 panelled door in reveals; door- way with fluted frame with cornice over. Passageway through the house at southern end; segmental arched; upper part glazed, modern wrought iron gates to lower part.

Nos 1 to 7 (consec) and No 9 form a group.
