Description

Nos 78 and 79 on East Street are a pair of early 19th century houses that stand three storeys tall, each featuring two windows. They are constructed of red brick and have a high parapet topped with a small cornice and modillions. The houses have sash windows with flush boxes set in flat arches, and the voussoirs are made of rubbed brick. The glazing bars are intact in No 79, while No 78 has missing glazing bars and a large modern three-light casement window on the first floor. Both houses have 20th century plate glass shop fronts with fascia boards that are at different heights.
