Description
Nos 51 and 51A on South Street are an early 19th-century building with a front that is taller than the adjacent No 50. The structure has three storeys and three window bays, although the central window on the second floor is blocked. The northernmost window bay projects slightly forward. The building is finished in stucco and features a capped parapet. There is a band above the ground floor at the southern end. The windows are sash style, set in reveals with flat arches above, and they retain their glazing bars and sills. The second-floor windows are shorter than those on the first floor. The ground floors of Nos 51 and 51A are occupied by 20th-century plate-glass shop fronts.
