Description
No. 27 South Street is an 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall and features four window bays. The façade is constructed with grey headers, complemented by red brick quoins and dressings. It has a high panelled parapet and bands above the first and second floors. On the second floor, there are four sash windows set in slightly segmental arches, with intact glazing bars and rubbed brick voussoirs. The first floor showcases two Venetian windows, also with rubbed brick voussoirs. The ground floor has a 20th-century fascia and large plate-glass shop windows, which replaced a mid-19th-century shop front. The ground floor was recently renovated at the time of the survey.
