Description
Nos 24 and 25 on South Street is a 17th century or earlier timber-framed building featuring a first-floor overhang. It has 18th century sash windows and a tiled roof, standing two storeys high with an attic and one dormer. The front is plastered and includes three sash windows on the first floor, all with flush boxes and intact glazing bars, set beneath flat arches. On the ground floor to the south, there is an early 19th century shop front with a shallow three-sided square oriel bay that has vertical glazing bars. The central doorway features a glazed door with a rectangular fanlight above it. In the northern half, there is a shop window with panels of glass separated by vertical glazing bars. This building is part of a group that includes Vicar's Hall and Crypt, Canon Gate, and Nos 8 to 25.
