Description
Froggots Cottage is a house that likely dates from the 15th century or earlier, with a chimney stack added in the 18th century, 19th century windows, and two small lean-to additions from the 20th century. The building is timber-framed and consists of two bays, with the frame exposed on the ground floor featuring rendered infill, while the first floor is weatherboarded. It has a hipped roof covered in peg tiles and an external rendered chimney stack. The cottage includes 19th century casement windows and a hipped tiled porch. Adjacent to the front door are two large haunched posts set back to back. Inside, the floor joists are square in section, and the floor appears to have been added later, indicating that the original design may have included an open hall. The first floor showcases an exposed box frame, and the roof has likely been modified, suggesting it may have originally been gabled rather than hipped.
