Description

The Sir Roger Tichborne Inn is a public house located on Guildford Road in Alfold Bars. This L-shaped building dates from the 17th century or earlier and features a timber frame with red brick infilling. The ground floor has been refronted with painted brick, while the upper part is adorned with fishscale tiles. The inn has a tiled roof and is two storeys high, with casement windows that have small square panes. The name of the inn is linked to Denzil Osborne, MP, of Drungewick Manor, who was a strong supporter of the Tichborne claimant.
