Description
Furzens is a cottage dating from the 16th century, with an extension added to the right in 1964. It features a timber frame set on a rendered plinth, with colourwashed render infill and a colourwashed brick extension. The roof is plain tiled, half-hipped, and part tile hung over the extension. The building has two storeys and is an end chimney house with three bays, showcasing curved tension bracing on the first floor. There is a stack at the left end. The first floor has three diamond-pane, leaded casement windows, while the ground floor has four windows, one of which retains original mullions in a pentice to the left. The extension to the right includes one first floor window and two single-light ground floor windows. A plank door is located to the right, and there is another door to the left within a single storey, hip-roofed porch. At the rear, there is a catslide outshot. The adjacent Furzens cottage, built in 1908, is not included in this listing.
