Description

This is an 18th-century building of two storeys, originally comprising two windows, located on the north side of Westgate. It is significantly lower in frontage than the adjacent building at number 18. The roof is red tiled, with two flat-roofed dormers, and features a small modillion eaves cornice. The building is constructed of red brick, with two sash windows in reveals, each surrounded by painted brick voussoirs; the glazing bars have been lost. The easternmost window on the ground floor has been replaced by a small shop front. A doorway is present, embellished with Doric pilasters and a pediment. The door itself is set within reveals and incorporates glazed panels, topped by a semi-circular fanlight. The building forms a group with numbers 16 to 48 (even).
