Description
16 Eastgate Square is an 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall and features two windows. It has a lower elevation than the adjacent No 15 and is finished in stucco. The roof is tiled and hipped, with a small cornice that includes modillions beneath the eaves. There is a large advertisement panel, currently without an advertisement, located between the first and second floor windows. The building has sash windows with flush boxes set in flat arches, with glazing bars intact only on the second floor. On the ground floor, there is a three-light shop window with an advertisement and a dentilled cornice above it. The entrance door is accessed by steps and is set within reveals. There is also a doorway to No 17 located to the west of this building. Nos 14 to 16 form a group.
