Description

This 18th-century building comprises two properties, 80 and 82 South Street. It is three storeys high and originally had five windows. The front facade is stuccoed, while the south side is built of red brick. Stringcourses are visible above the ground and first floors, and a dentilled eaves cornice runs along the top. The roof is tiled and hipped. The central doorway is framed by a moulded architrave with a pediment supported on consoles, above which is a rectangular fanlight with tracery. The door itself is made of six moulded panels. Modern shop fronts have been inserted to the north and south of the main doorway. A painted advertisement is present on the front facade. Nos 66 to 82 (even) form a group. A photograph of the building is held within the National Monuments Record.
