Description

Keswick House, located at No. 4 St John's Street, is an early to mid 19th century building. It features a double hipped slate roof with tall rendered stacks on either side and overhanging eaves. The exterior is stuccoed, and the building has two storeys and a cellar, with a three-bay arrangement. On the first floor, there are two windows and one blocked opening in the center. The sash windows have black painted reveals and flat arches, with intact glazing bars. The ground floor also has sash windows with side lights, but these do not have glazing bars. The entrance features a six-panelled door with moulded and grooved panels, topped by a rectangular fanlight. The doorway is set in stuccoed reveals and is adorned with stuccoed pilasters, a frieze, a cornice, and an overdoor. Keswick House, along with Nos 4 to 6 and the Church of St John, forms a cohesive group.
