Description
37A South Street is a pair of early 19th-century houses that stand three storeys tall, each featuring two windows. The houses have a hipped slate roof with a central stack and a cornice at the top. The exterior is stuccoed, with the ground floor displaying rusticated detailing. The first and second floors have sash windows set in reveals beneath flat arches, with the original glazing bars intact. Each house has a fine bow window on the ground floor, consisting of three lights, with one sash window in each light. At both ends of the houses, there are flights of six steps with an iron handrail leading up to semi-circular arched doorways. The doors are set in panelled reveals and consist of six fielded panels, with the top two panels cut away and glazed, topped by semi-circular fanlights.
