Description
Numbers 67A and 69 High Street, along with No 1 East Street (Smart's Corner), date from the mid-to-late 18th century. This three-storey building features three windows and has a hipped tiled roof. The exterior is finished in later stucco, with a parapet that extends partly to East Street. There are keystones above the windows, and the first floor has glazing bars only in the center. The second floor has smaller windows.
The late 19th-century shop front includes panelled pilasters and triangular-headed fascia brackets. The return to East Street is made of painted brick and has one window, while No 1 East Street has three windows. It features a canted bay shop window that matches the style of the High Street front, with a canted bay window above. The other windows on the first and second floors have rubbed brick flat arches, and some glazing bars remain intact. A modern shop front is present at the north end of No 1 East Street.
Numbers 61 to 69 (odd) form a group.
