Description

The property at 4 and 4A Arun Street dates to the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick, which has been painted white, and has a pitched slate roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic. A brick cornice, decorated with modillion details, runs along the top. The ground floor has been largely modernised with new window openings, with the exception of the doorway to number 4, which retains its original surround consisting of a wide, bolection moulding, panelled reveals and a pediment supported on consoles. The first floor features two double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. A single attic dormer is present, containing a casement window. Numbers 4 to 18 (even) and numbers 1 to 13 (odd) Arun Street are grouped together with numbers 67, 69 and 69A Tarrant Street.
