Description

Whitmoor House is a house, now divided, dating from the 16th century to the rear, with a 18th-century front and a late 19th-century addition to the left end. The rear of the house is timber-framed with brick infill, while the front is red brick on a rendered plinth. The roof is tiled, with stacks at the right end and to the rear.

The front of the house is symmetrical, with five bays and projecting gabled end bays. It is divided by a plat band, with attic dormers behind a parapet on the right. There are glazing bar sash windows with drip hood mouldings, an arched niche on the first floor centre with a brick panel above, a part-glazed door under a bracketed porch hood to the right of centre, and a further door in the left-hand gabled bay. A three-bay extension to the left mirrors the style, with projecting end gabled bays and glazing bar sash windows under cambered heads.

To the rear of the left-hand return front is "The Cottage," which is timber-framed with brick infill and a tiled roof. It has a large sash window to the right, a small casement to the left, and a central six-panel door in a pent roof porch. A 19th-century slate roof extension extends to the left.
