Description

Cox’s Farm House is a 16th-century house that has been significantly extended. The house is timber-framed and originally encased in brick, with tile hanging above on the original entrance front. It has a plain tiled, half-hipped roof with a central ridge stack. The building has an L-shaped plan with the original entrance front set at a right angle to the yard. It is two storeys high, and the casement windows are now mostly blocked. There is one blocked window on the first floor. A blocked door is located to the right of the centre, set within a deep recess and sheltered by a gabled open porch supported by wooden posts. A newer entrance front facing the yard features a hipped projection to the left, with a casement window on each floor and a small dormer window with a catslide roof to the right. Plank doors are located to the left and right of the centre. The rear of the house reveals timber framing across three bays. The interior retains visible timber framing.
