Description

This flagpole, located 60 yards southeast of the American Military Chapel in Brookwood Cemetery, dates from around 1930. It features a stone plinth with bronze fittings and a wooden staff. The base is polygonal, with a smaller octagonal plinth in the center that supports a bronze drum pedestal. Decorative foliage hands are positioned at the top, and a shell band encircles the base. The flagpole is fluted on the lower quarter and topped with a bronze eagle finial on a sphere. This structure is included for its group value with the Chapel.
