Description

Old Forge Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century. It has a timber frame construction with whitewash brick infill, and fishscale tile hanging above. The roof is tiled, with an oversailing gable on the right and a central ridge stack. The house is two storeys high, with a gable lit attic. It has 19th-century leaded casement windows, two across the first floor. The front features a central door leading to a lobby entrance. A later timber frame and tile-hung wing was added to the rear. The Cottage is part of a group of buildings along the Petworth Road.
