Description

Church Cottage is a 16th-century cottage, significantly restored. It is timber-framed with brick infill, some laid in a herringbone pattern, and has a plain tile roof with a gablet to the left end and a large multiple ridge stack to the right. The cottage is two storeys and an attic, with hipped dormers and a visible queen post timber frame construction with diminishing principals on the right-hand return front. It has irregular leaded casement windows, two across the first floor, and a plank door to the left, with leaded glazing beneath a gabled brick and timber porch. A catslide extension is present to the left end. The interior features a deep brick fireplace with a wooden lintel, and much of the original timber frame is still visible.
