Description

This building is a barn and stables, now used as a store, located 10 yards north of Upper Sydenhurst in Chiddingfold. It dates back to the 16th century, with 19th-century stables added to the eastern end. The structure features a queen strut timber frame, with a brick exterior on the south side and weatherboarding on the north side. The roof is hipped and covered with plain tiles. The barn consists of four bays, with a brick aisle on a lower level beneath a catslide roof on the left end of the north side. On the right half, there is a gable-front stable that projects out, which includes a board door and shuttered windows on either side, all under cambered hoods. The barn is part of a group with Upper Sydenhurst Farmhouse.
