Description
Black Hams is an early 17th-century cottage located in Chiddingfold. It features a square panel timber frame with whitewashed brick and render infill, topped by a plain tile roof with tile-hung gable ends and a ridge stack on the left side. The building has two storeys and an attic, which includes a tile-hung gable dormer. The windows have leaded mullions, mostly in a diamond pattern, with three on the first floor. There is a 19th-century plank door in a brick and tile-hung catslide extension to the left, which has a gable porch supported by wooden posts. Late 19th-century brick and tile-hung extensions are present on the right side and along the rear, but these are not included in the listing.
