Description
Fairfield is a house dating from the 17th century, with a 19th-century extension facing the street. The rear of the building features a timber frame that is encased in whitewashed brick, with fishscale tile hanging above. It has a plain tile roof with a ridge stack located on the right side. The house is two stories tall with an attic, and the gable front is positioned to the right. There are leaded casement windows, including one in the gable front on the first floor and two in the left-hand range. A central plank door is set in a recessed porch. The street-facing side is built of early 19th-century brick and has hipped plain tile roofs. This side also has two stories and three bays, with leaded casement windows; the outer ground floor windows are in angle bays, and the first floor windows are set under gauged heads. Inside, the timber frame is visible in the rear rooms, and there is a deep brick fireplace.
