Description

The lamp post located before number 1 Castle Street is a listed structure from the later 19th century. It features a tapering octagonal shaft made of painted cast iron, with decorative bands of necking. The lamp post stands on an octagonal plinth and supports a quadrangular lamp that is topped with cresting. This lamp post is part of a group of listed buildings that includes numbers 1 to 9 Lowndes Buildings on the west side of Castle Street.
