Description
Thursley Lodge is a lodge built in 1896 by H. Paxton-Watson for financier Whitaker Wright, designed in a free Tudor style. The building features snecked sandstone with ashlar dressings and gables, topped with plain tiled roofs. It has a T-shaped plan with the gable end facing the street and stands two storeys tall. The lodge has angle quoins on both ranges and stacks located at the rear left and on the ridge of the projecting gabled wing.
The gable end bay has canted sides and a string course above the ground floor, with decorative panels in the gable above. There is one three-light leaded casement window on each floor and a single light window on the ground floor of the angled sides. An arched door is positioned to the left under a continuous string course in a pentice extension to the wing, with a buttress at the left end. On the rear wing, there is one three-light casement window on the first floor and two two-light windows on the ground floor.
