Lodge to now demolished house. 1896 by H. Paxton-Watson for Whitaker Wright, the financier, in a free Tudor style. Snecked sandstone with ashlar dressings and gables, plain tiled roofs. T-shaped plan with gable end to street. Two storeys, angle quoins on both ranges and stacks to rear left and on the ridge of the projecting gabled wing. Gable end bay with canted sides and string course over ground floor, decorative panels in gable above. One 3-light leaded casement window to each floor and one single light window on ground floor of angled sides to ground floor. Arched door to left under continuous string course in pentice extension to wing, buttress to left end. One first floor, 3-light casement window to gable ends of rear wing, two 2-light windows on ground floor.
